Vendor Related Projects:
SSLM: SSLM supervisor and Greyhawk Landing Board of Directors have agreed to skip mowing this week to prevent additional stress on the “already dry” turf. Next week, we will return to a normal mowing schedule.
GHL Lake Management: Sitex Aquatics is actively treating ponds and wetlands.
3 Things to keep in mind this summer:
- Pond Algae is typically fueled by warm temperatures, sunlight, and high nutrient levels.
Paired with low water levels, algae blooms are going to be on the rise. - Each pond in the community is treated on an individual, case-by-case basis.
What works for one pond may not work for other ponds...... - Most noticeable results after treatment, tend to appear 7–10 days later.
Therefore, if you see algae blooms or floating scum, that is a good indication that the pond has been tended to, and that the "treatments" are serving the intended purpose.
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
All gates are working, approach gates at low speed, 5 mph or less, so the RFID reader can activate.
- The Manatee County Code Enforcement is now actively issuing warnings to individuals that use gate clickers that are coded to the emergency service frequency.
- Violators will be receiving an initial letter from the county, with photo evidence, advising that subsequent violations will incur fines. (up to $500.00)
- After the fourth notification, those individuals that continue to violate the Ordinance will be summoned to court and possibly face the penalty of losing driving privileges. (suspension)
- Please visit and read the Manatee County Ordinance document, under section 2-28-2 for a clearer understanding of the rules that are set forth.
